My Keurig makes Delicious Coffee but Very Noisy

by Pat
(Massachusetts)

My Keurig makes delicious coffee, but since I have moved from a house into an apartment, I'm afraid the noise at the end of the brewing process will wake up other tenants. Is this noise common to the Keurig?

My grown children absolutely love the Keurig; one daughter even says it is her favorite of all her appliances. But how do I stop this noise?

loud keurig NEW
by: mgoeldner

If you have well water with any iron in it and use that in the Kuerig it will definitely cause it too make alot of noise when it is filling, mine sounded like it was grinding rocks. I used 2 tablespoons of iron out in 2 cups of hot water, made sure it was completely dissolved then put in the resevoir with 6 cups cold water. I ran it thru cup after cup. I then ran thru 2 more full resevoirs of clear filtered water. The iron out water came thru and it was actually brown, I could not believe how much iron was in the internal lines. It is now very queit and runs great. The coffee tastes so much better. I use filtered water from my tap but still iron gets thru. I plan to do this twice a year. Hope this helps anyone having issues, it sure helped my machine.

Noisy Keurig
by: Chris

My husband decided we "needed" a Keurig for Christmas last year. I would not have bought one and still would not. It sounds like a tugboat docking in the fog, and the coffee costs twice more than regular coffee. I really see nothing special about the taste either. If this one breaks, I would not get another.

The noise has to go! Where is the trouble shooting info.
by: Anonymous

My Keurig coffee maker makes loud noise at the
start of the brewing and at the end. It is NOT
something I can live with. I can find NO info
on this problem on their website only that others
are having the same problem

My Keurig makes more noise than a dump truck!!
by: Gail

My keurig coffee maker makes more noise than a dump truck but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It wakes everyone up in the morning with its loud vibrating on the counter. Hard to sneak in a cup. It makes great coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Not to speak about the great iced beverages it also makes. It is so convenient, not messy and super fast. I know mine makes more noise than others that my friends own, but I will live with it. Worth the noise, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
