Problems with Keurig B60 & B70

We love the coffee but the coffee makers have major problems. We have had to return four coffee makers in five months. Our best one worked for two months. The problem for three of them was it would turn off right after filling your cup. The last one made a horrible noise and never filled the internal tank with water.

Today we bought our fifth Keurig and this time it is the small one without a tank of water. I hope this one can keep working or we will have to give up on these wonderful coffees.

Keurig and MOLD issues inside ???? NEW
by: AnonymousjV

I've heard about units having MOLD trapped inside from residual water. What do you do to guard against this "serious" problem WHEN you leave your winter home and return 5 months later to a potential HAZMAT Zone ????

keurig NEW
by: Anonymous

My Keurig was heating the water , would say ready to Brew and voila nothing, press the button and would not fill the cup. So I used the air compressor on low actually 5lb pressure and blew air threw both white over tubes placed a cup on the stand to catch the water that came out of the machine. Did this gently several times then purged the unit with a whole reservior filled with white vinegar. Ran a whole clear reservior of filtered water and the unit it is up and running just like it did when it was new. Will be purging every three months from now on. Good Luck,

Warrenty NEW
by: SandyP

All you have to do is call the number included with your paperwork. They should send you a new brewer free of charge. They will walk you through some steps to make sure the brewer is not working. You will have to send in the K-cup holder after you receive your new brewer, so that you are not charged for it. I've had to replace several brewers, and Keurig has always been very helpful.

lack of water in reservoir or short cups NEW
by: Stephen Weeven

This problem is a piece of cake to fix no need to return your brewer
simply clean out your reservoir. in mine it took cleaning it three times only to find a bit of fuzz like laundry lint or something. I completely disassembled machine to verify no leaks but it appears the only short coming was not cleaning the reservoir. At the bottom is a particulate filter held by three screws pulled that out saw nothing but cleaned it with a powerful stream of water from the sink. if you have troubles trust me just try again with installing reservoir after solving your filling problem i used distilled white vinegar and ran an entire reservoir through it then two complete reservoirs of water. coffee is just like when it was new. peace out

Take off your water reservoir. Put the coffee maker elevated in the sink. Pinch off the vent make sure handle is down and then force water into where the water normally enters from the reservoir. The water will come out the normal spout. Continue for one min or two to get the air out. Good luck

keurig wont pull water out of res NEW
by: Beerguy

I have had my machine unplugged and put away for almost a month. now that I have cleaned it up and put new water and descaler in, the machine turns on then makes all the sounds it normally would, and it doesn't pull water out of the resivoir. just runs a complete dry cycle. How do I fix this, before I throw it out my twenty story window.

My Keurig turns on by itself! NEW
by: Lovie

I had to call customer service because my Keurig K-70 started to turn on from the off position!

This started happening a week ago and at first I thought I was having a few senior moments...low and behold, it wasn't me. After brewing my second cup of coffee for the morning (I don't drink any after that) at 9 am, I turned off the switch located in back of the machine. At around 3 pm, I'll be darned; the coffee machine is heating up the water and the lights are on...ready to brew. This was happened everyday for over a week. I called customer service and they were great and a new Keurig is on its way to my home. Customer service rep said that mine was only the 4th coffee maker to do this and that it was rare.

Getting your Keurig replaced NEW
by: SandyP.

JanetH, If you registered your Keurig's, you should be able to get them replaced. I have had several go bad and they have always sent me a new one without cost to me, even when they have been out of warranty. I believe that the people who say they have to pay, are the ones who didn't register their purchase. My experience with customer service has been excellent. One important thing to remember is to clean (descale) your coffeemaker regularly. If you call, they will walk you through some steps to correct the problem, and if those steps don't work, they should send you a replacement, if you have registered your coffeemaker.

Keurig has left the building NEW
by: JanetH

I bought myself the B70 and a B60 for my mother. After a few months of loving this coffee maker, I bought my sister a B60 for Christmas. I also bought another smaller one (forgot the number) for our downstairs den. Well, all 4 stopped working in the last few months. The B70 and one of the B60's pull water up into the tank but do not brew coffee. They think they are done, but nothing happens. I have done the straw trick on the water tank and every other trick I have read about, but they draw one cup worth of water into the tank, heats it and then nothing. The other B60 and the last one I bought just stopped doing anything and made so much racket and shook so much they practically jumped off the counter. I'm done with Keurig. I'll be looking at other coffeemaker reviews for something else. I would call Keurig, but from what I have read in this thread, they will only try to get me to buy another one.

cleaning the needles NEW
by: Anonymous

I am on my third Keurig in 3 years and as much as I love the machine, I equally hate it's temperment. I've had all the typical problems as everyone else, but have recently stumbled upon a great new "fix" to the machine when it was only making a 1/2 cup. I used the canned air that is use to clean a computer keyboard and sprayed the needle, clearing any loose debris/coffee grinds. It has worked better than using a paperclip or de-scaling! If this Keurig breaks down...I will definitely give up on their product and try the Tossimo brand! I've spent a small fortune on the Keurigs and the coffee pods, and refuse to purchase another!

B60 NEW
by: Teressa

I have had my Keurig for less that 3 years and it just quit working. I took care of it as the manufacture recommended and still had problems with it making noises and making less than a cup of coffee. I will never buy another one and never recommend anyone to buy one. Yes it is convenient but not at the cost of these machines and the coffee. Everyone that I know has had a problem with them and has purchased another Keurig. Not me.

Two Keurigs in one year-No More! NEW
by: Anonymous

Shouldn't a coffee maker last more than four months?
Boy, do these comments sound familiar! When wil we all pass the word that these coffee makers need a total remake or we won't buy them anymore! This is ridiculous!! This is my second one that has stopped working in one year!!
And, yes, I'm ashamed to say, that I was suckered into buying a second one for that same "low price" of 79.99. When did I purchase this marvelous machine? February 27th, 2013. I have used only bottled water.
I think I'll try Cuisinart....

problem with my keurig coffee maker NEW
by: Judy

I purchased my Keurig coffee maker in November of 2012 at the end of April the problem of not brewing a full cup started . I descaled it and that didn't help. I realized the maker wasn't drawing the water from the water tank, so I decided to try blowing into the water intake hole and that solved the problem for a couple of weeks . So now every time I have that problem I do the same thing and it works again. I'm thinking about trying another brand of single cup brewing coffee maker.

B60 NEW
by: Sandy

I bought my B60 on 9/01/10 it was working very well until this week, no power. I called customer service and they offered to sell my another one for $97.99 such a deal, I don't think so. They said it was the best deal they could offer seeing it was 2-1/2 yrs old. Well, after reading all the complaints, I now realize they know they have problems with their coffee makers and could care less. Hey, just buy another one!! I would not ever buy another Keurig and I certainly would not recommend one!!

Trouble with the B70 NEW
by: Dan

I am on my third Keurig. The first one came from Macy's and lasted 5 months, but the ones sold there do not come with a filtering screen. The second came from Keurig corp as a replacement and with a filtering screen. This one lasted a year and a half.

This time Keurig customer service gave a little trouble about replacing the defective machine, wanting to charge me $80 for a new one. After a little negotiation, they sent me a new one. I also bought a filter for this one. We will see how long this one lasts.

I have to say, however, that customer service for this company is outstanding. A representative from the corporate office called me when to discuss a replacement when others down the customer service line were less sympathetic.

I will continue using this machine. Each time the models are improved.

Tip: use only distilled water; you can cut down on having to descale frequently.

I would advise everyone to register your new Keurig brewer immediately after purchase. I can't think of any reason why Keurig would not send a replacement, or would charge someone for a replacement, even out of warranty, unless you have failed to register.

Keurig problems NEW
by: Sandy

My son bought me my first basic Keurig about 5 years ago. It was very noisy when pumping water, but no other problems. Hubby bought me a fancier B70 for Christmas, which broke after a few months. I'm on my 5th brewer and have had most of the problems posted here. One brewer would shut off after making the coffee, one would only brew 1/2 a cup, etc. The first two brewers were a serial# that had defects from what I read in comments somewhere. I thought they would have fixed the problems, but it seems like they haven't. This morning, I went to brew a cup and the pump is not working. I just descaled 3 days ago and have been very careful to do everything I'm supposed to do to extend the life of the brewer, like descaling every 3 months, cleaning the ports, using filtered water, etc. Since I am a big coffee lover, It's very discouraging to have this happen over and over again. In defense of Keurig, I've always had exceptional customer service. Every brewer has been replaced, even when out of the 1 year warranty period at no cost to me...just inconvenience. I love the concept of a fresh cup of coffee every time, but am seriously considering the new one cup coffee makers that use your own ground coffee if this happens again.

If you want frustration... NEW
by: Anonymous

I bought the mini about a year ago. Three months into it, it started smoking. Returned to Keurig, they sent me another. That one lasted about 5 months, then that one starting making holes in the k-cup the size of a dime and only produced warm coffee and exploding coffee grinds. Again Keurig replaced. This one lasted until last week when the water stopped coming out at all. Going to try the suggestion about the straw, but I give up on Keurig. Going to look into something else or go back to the good old fashion coffee pot.

My BFF gave me a Keurig Coffee maker for my birthday in Aug last year which she bought at Macy's Lakewood CA. After six months, it stopped working and any cleaning, running of water without the cup, etc. is not helping. Can someone help us? It was one of the bigger models Keurig. What are we to do with the Keurig coffee cups of different flavors now if this machine does not work? Help.

Try this...it worked for me NEW
by: David

Big thanks to Rob for the following tip:
Place a coffee cup on the Drip Tray Plate.
Take a rigid plastic straw and insert it gently into the rubber vapor release nozzle which is located at the top of the water reservoir, at the back (or side) just under the reservoir lid. Once inserted, gently blow into the straw for approximately 10 seconds. You will notice bubbles coming from the bottom of the reservoir and may notice water coming from the nozzle spout. Remove the straw and cycle the brewer without a K-cup. I hope this helps some of you.

I have a B70 Keurig that was not allowing water into machine from reservoir. I had straight vinegar in reservoir, used straw to blow into the RIGHT hole of the "rubber vapor release nozzle" a couple of times... a small amount of vinegar came through machine into cup. Ran the rest of the vinegar through and a few full reservoirs of water through... so far, so good. Really glad to have my coffee maker back!!

Water, but not coffee NEW
by: Karen

My daughter purchased a Keurig about 18 months ago. It worked fine, and all of a sudden it quit brewing coffee. Water runs through the machine just fine, but the machine does nothing when a K-Cup is put in. We have tried cleaning every part of the machine, but nothing helps. I have a Keurig, also, that I got last Christmas. So far mine has worked fine, but I am wondering now when my machine is going to fail. I think Keurig should offer replacement machines at no or very little cost, since these fails are obviously very common. I have not read of one like my daughter's, though, where the machine will brew with water, but not with a K-Cup. Solution, anyone?

handle problems NEW
by: Anonymous

started with a B-60--that broke Keurig sent a new B-70 replacement. --now thats not working. We have to hold the handle down to get it to work not sure why. Have not seen this problem listed anywhere. We did all the usual things--de-scale and all that but no luck. I guess its on to #3 as we have two months supply of K-cups on hand!! When they work they are great--but they seem to last only 6-8 months and then the problems start.

weak coffee NEW
by: Anonymous

Just purchased a new Keurig and was so excited to use it as we had tried the coffee from our Brothers machine and loved it. What a disapointment, it was so weak. We dont drink really strong coffee normally, but it was way too weak. No matter what cup size, no matter the k-cup we used, the only way it was drinkable was to make the second smallest size, and that wasnt even a mug full, all other bigger sizes were way to weak. At that rate it was way to expensive for a weak cup of coffee. we tried our own coffee in the k-cup and it was also weak. We tried everything we could think of and finally had to return it. I dont know if there was something we could of done to adjust the strength or not, does anyone else have this problem. I would purchase another one if it would make a decent cup of coffee. But after reading all the problems, i am reluctant to do that.

FIXED - for now anyway NEW
by: Uncle Bobby B

After experiencing all of the problems with our Keurig Coffee maker that are very well known and well documented, I finally decided to be a little more extreme. Please know I have done the blowing out, cleaning out and straight vinegar I decided to commit the necessary time to run CLR through the machine. I started out with just over a half of tank of straight CLR. I ran several cycles until the Add Water light appeared. At that time I merely added water to the remaining CLR, so a diluted CLR/Water mixture was utilized until the Add Water light appeared one again. At at point I rinsed the diluted CLR mixture and started the process of repeated clear fresh water until the return was crystal clear (3 full tanks). I used a clear glass to verify the hot water was clean and clear. I now have a full cup of coffee, like when the macine was new and there is no longer the H2o overflow going back into the fresh water tank. I wonder now just how long this fix will work.. I think something that costs this much and makes such good coffee, should be better engineered, or free replacements should be offered. Thank you. unclebobbyb@aol.com

Only brewed half a cup NEW
by: Jim

My Keurig would only brew a half a cup at a time. After cleaning it as suggested it still only produced 1/2 a cup. I noticed that a lot of water would flow back into the reservoir when brewing. I took a "bendy" straw and blew air back into the port at the top of the tank until bubbles would come out at the bottom of the tank. I then drained the water, because I noticed something floating in the water at that point. After I did this, I was back up to a full cup again.

Keep Keurig Clean is the biggest Help NEW
by: Anonymous

The reservoir needs soap and water at least every month. At the same time, you need to soap/water the entry port for the water coming from the reservoir. The underside of lid needs soap/water to clean the needle, rubber piece and underside of lid. These units can then be reset. Unplug unit, wait 5 sec., replace full reservoir, then hold down 4 buttons on the B70 or 3 buttons on the B60, while turning the switch on. Hold buttons in for about 4 sec.....water should try to siphon into the maker and then reheat. Have patience and see if it gives you a good cup of coffee. Works for me!

Dead Keurig Great Customer Service NEW
by: Stew NC

Good warranty service. My 12 month old unit lost power after second cup this morning. I checked everything to get power, different plug, unplug, replug, etc. Called Keurig Customer service. I talked to a live person within 30 seconds. The unit was registered when I received it last year. After confirming the serial number she honored the warranty by sending a new unit with a new one year warranty. No cost to me. I have to send the K cup holder back as proof of ownership of the broken unit. That is the way a warranty should work. for small appliances. I recommend Keurig products and I will buy again as needed.

Straw trick worked! NEW
by: Anonymous

We'd had our B60 for maybe two years and have had to descale a few times when it was pumping slowly or stopped all together. In the past few months I had needed to descale twice and two days after the last cleaning it stopped again and wouldn't pump any water. I had tried all the suggested cleanings I could find with no luck. We broke down and bought the Keurig Elite. It works fine but had to flush out the plastic taste by cleaning the reservoir with soap and then running some vinegar through. I thought I'd give the old unit one more try when I read about Rob's suggestion with the straw and blowing air back through the plastic piece at the top of the reservoir area. It worked! Now my old unit works and we have a new unit! At least I have a back up unit for mornings when the first coffee maker won't pump and I don't have time to perform the descaling.

Problems with Keurig Coffee Pots NEW
by: Anonymous

I began reading these comments because my keurig would only dispense 1/2 a cup of coffee when the 10 oz button was pressed. My husband, who is pretty handy, pulled out the cup holder and cleaned it thoroughly and nothing, still just a half a cup. When we ran just water through, we got a full cup. He had to take a sewing needle and clean out the holes in the top part of the machine to get it to work properly. Probably not the correct tool for the job, but hey I got a full cup of coffee afterwards. My machine is just a year old, and reading your comments made me worry. We will see how long it lasts.

Maybe it's time we all start contacting Keurig's leadership group and tell them what we think of their product. Keurig's customer service team doesn't seem to react to the seriousness of what is clear is a quality issue with their coffee makers. I've done that with success with other companies when I've purchased a product with obvious quality problems.

Bad coffee brewer NEW
by: Sandi

I have also bought 3 or 4 keurig brewers, I lose track. They have all quit. I have descaled when it says to and then it never works right again and I follow all of the directions. When I called keurig about the last one that broke, not many months ago,I was told that they could give me a good price on another one. I don't have a big round head and a stick body, so I won't be suckered again. The shame is that I really liked the coffee brewer, but it is WAY to expensive to keep replacing. If they are not on recall, they should be.

After just 2 years,my coffee pot quite working.I had trouble throughout the 2 years before it died.My parents also have had one for the last 2 years and having problems as well. With the price we pay for the coffee makers, one would think that it would last much longer. When I called coustmer service, she offered me one for $119.00. WHAT !!!! I WOULD NOT suggest anyone waste their hard earned money.I guess I will just go get my $14.00 DEPENDABLE Mr. Coffee pot out.

[rime light on b60 NEW
by: Anonymous

If your b60 will not take in water and the prime light comes on try this. Take the water tank off the machine and put some water in it. Then push the little valve on the bottem of the tank in. if no water comes out ths screen in the tank is clogged.Remove the three screws and remove the screen and try the machine again without the screen in place. I have two b60 machines that would not work and this fixed them both. The screens are very fine and clog very easily in hard water areas.

Need a fix NEW
by: Susan

Funny the first comment I read looks like I could have just entered it myself. The same thing happened to me. Made my coffee this morning and decided it was running slow so I should clean it. Now water will not dispense through the coffee cup. If this is a fault of the manufacturer, which it seems to be reading all the comments, then I think the company should come good for repairs or replacements. They are making a bundle of money from all of us suckers.

Same problems with B70 NEW
by: Anonymous

I am having the same problem with the brewer not dispensing water through the k-cup. Cleaned the hollow needle, descaled it, powered off & on endlessly, and the problem is escalating. Yes, since my brewer is 19 months old, it's out of warranty and they offered to sell me a new one for $79.99!!! Obviously, there is a manufacturing defect and Keurig should fix it and replace all the defective units.

Unit failed after 2 1/2 years NEW
by: Anonymous

Ours died this morning, after 2 1/2 years of great service. The descale light was on (I descaled it 2 months ago)and it was only making half a cup of coffee, so I started the vinegar treatment, and it died completely. The vinegar wasn't pumped into the heating reservoir, and the descale light stayed on even after I turned the machine off.
I called customer service and they're letting me have a replacement at discount with a coupon for some free K-cups.
(Our model is no longer being made, so I'm getting the newest version.)

Leaking from the base ............ NEW
by: Randy

This is my 3rd Keurig coffee maker, and when it works, they are great! The problem I have with this one is that when it goes in the brewing cycle, water pours from underneath the base. I have to keep a pan with paper towels under it to keep from flooding my counter top. Keurig offered to replace it with a new one for $70.00 bucks or so, but I am gun shy now with these units.....they seem to be junk, and only need to be sold in China where they are made! I will go back with a Mr. Coffee, they brew the K cups, and I'm sure they will last longer than a year............

3rd time is not a charm! NEW
by: Anonymous

We have now had 2 B60s and one B70. I love them when they work. Unfortunately they only work for a little over a year and then they seem to develop the same timing problems. The cycle of filling the internal tank gets screwed up and it will not brew. After unplugging the unit from the ac for 30 second or so you plug it back in and then it might brew. Of course you don't know how many cups you will get at the same time depending on how many times you pushed the brew button in frustration because it was not brewing. At $170 a pop I have bought my last Keurig! I bought a Hamilton Beach that will brew a pot or single cup and uses ground coffee, no K cups needed! It was about $100! Thanks for the memories Keurig!

k cups exploding NEW
by: Anonymous

bought a home brewer six months ago up until the it worked great no problems. Now after each brew we are having to clean it due to the coffee exploding during the last few seconds of the brewing cycle. We have tried the cleaning that was suggested but did not help. This is starting to be more of a hassell then enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

What a coincidence..and thanks to this forum NEW
by: Laserman

Just yesterday I was surfing the net for solutions for my Keurig60 problem(no power)and landed here.
Even if my machine was off warranty, I followed the advices in this forum , called Keurig and...to my surprise..they are sending me a new machine. It was so simple and after answering a few basic questions..they indicated they are shipping me a new machine. Obviously they know of the problems. My theory..they are making money at selling the coffee, not the machines. They don't want you to buy a machine from a different brand.

Bought ours about 6 months ago. Worked fine until about a week ago. Gave half cups, then no cups. Called Keurig. They sent us a new B70 WR. The SMELL is so bad.. it tastes like burnt plastic so that the coffee is not consumable. Will call them . . .again. May go back to my autodrip coffee maker.

We are on are 3rd or 4th Keurig B 60. What a piece of junk. Like others we have a bunch of K cups. As soon as they are gone I will shoot this thing and put it out of my misery. I think at 30 yard with a 12 gauge I can blow it to pieces in 3 rounds. This company needs to move to China. That is about the quality of there product. This thing should come with a flask full of whiskey , because if you use it you will drink.

B60 Update
by: fiddler2

It's been 6 weeks since I received my 4th replacement for my problematic Keurig B60 (the blue primer light issue)

Well'knock on wood' this 4th replacment unit has not given me any problems. But in truth I need to give it at least 6 months of testing to be convinced that Keurif really fixed this problem.

But so far so good. Be back in 4 months (Sept) with my final update.

Revised Update
by: Richard from Ohio

On my other review I had said that the timer didn't work. Hey all of a sudden the other morning it cut on as it was supposed to. Hey I'm shocked too! But as of right now both are working. Meaning that it comes on when it's supposed to and cuts off when it's supposed to.I just hope it stays working as planned. Will check back in 3 months or so. Or unless something happens to mine like all of the other stories on this site. I still enjoy it though. It's nice just to have a cup or two of coffee without wasting a whole pot.Oh yeah one other thing it doesn't start pouring the coffee in your cup unless you raise the lid and reset it. Which is good. It will just cut on a and wait for you. Good Safety Feature!

Small Problems so far
by: Richard From Ohio

Today is 05-08-2012. I bought my Keurig B60 on April 30th,2012.I never thought to look up complaints about the coffee maker before I bought it. I got online to see if anyone had the problems that I have. I bought it for being able to program to brew a cup at a certain time. That doesn't work. It will cut off at the time I schedule to cut off.. But will not start brewing on its own. ( The scheduled time )And another thing. The size of the coffee sizes. There are 3 choices.Small coffee cup, Medium size(Which is a regular coffe cup these days). And a third for a travel mug. ( Nonsense) The third one only fills up the normal coffee mug. The second one fills that half full. I haven't had any of the things everyone else has encountered. Fingers crossed!

BIG HUNK OF JUNK!
by: Frustrated

I purchase a B70 Platinum April, 2011. After 3 months, it started leaking at the bottom, gave me partial cups of coffee, the water keeps backing up inside the unit. I have tried descaling it constantly to keep it clean, and I've also used the paper clip, turned it upside down. Did I forget anything? I called Keurig and they walked me through the troubleshooting, but it was a waste of time. They told me that they were going to ship me another one and that I would have to return the K cup holder as proof that the machine didn't work. I will wait for machine #2 to arrive and if I have these problems with this unit, as I"ve read so many of you Keurig purchasers have had, I will go back to my OLD faithful...Mr. Coffee. For those of you who are considering switching to a Cuisinart, forget it. I bought that unit the first time around and had to take it back...It stopped working 2 months after I purchased it. It seems that these machines are badly made and Keurig needs to fix these problems. I'll never buy another again. I'll stick to regular coffee makers. I've had my Mr. Coffee for over 10 years and it works like a charm. I'll miss the different coffees, but the hassle isn't worth the time wasted and sooooo much money spent on these machines.

the replacements
by: Anonymous

We now have gotten a replacement unit to replace the replacement unit. First one would not make a full cup, and the second one was afflicted with the "prime" problem.
At least the company is nice enough to send the replacement unit. They must have a mountain of inserts, since everyone has to send them back to the company. We always use filtered water but still have problems. too bad, since we like the great selection of coffees available, and it is a nice convenience to have the availability of a quick cup of joe in the morning.

Leaking Water
by: Anonymous

Recieved my elite brewer as a gift for christmas and year warranty was up December 2011. My unit is leaking water from the bottom plate and was told it is not repairable. They did offer me a replacement for $70.00 but decided not to and will go back to a traditional coffee maker. I must add that even a cheap coffee maker lasts longer than this brand.

No power
by: Disappointed

Not sure what happened, just quit working. No power, no lights, nothing. Very disappointing. I really was enjoying the coffee but hate having to go to the trouble of going into my storage building to salvage my old coffee maker. But, it still works and is very dependable. My children purchased the Keurig B70 for my on my birthday in the color red. Did so love it.

B 60
by: fiddler2

I'm now receiving my 4th Keurig in less than 6 months (ALL covered under warranty) because of PRIME issues. I can only brew 1 or 2 cups before the blue prime light reappears. Keurig now sending the B65 model(they were unwilling to upgrade to the B70).... Hopefully by now Keurig engineering has figured out & corrected the prime design problem. I'll report back to this site in a few months on the newly designed B65 model.Sure hope they fix this problem because I have 3 full boxes of K cups (BTW~ Costco warehouse sells K cups for about 46 cents per cup).

PS. Be sure to keep a record of dates & S/N for possible warranty issues with Keurig
(Keurig tel 1.866.901.2739 option 3 )

B70 Keurig Just stopped working
by: Anonymous

Could not believe that after only 2 months the brewer died.
No lights, no power.
I had performed all of the basic remediation steps that have been suggested and there is no reason for the loss of power. Now I am stuck with all of the KCups and really was enjoying the use. But I need something I can depend on and not have to worry about learning how to repair or where to send it for repairs...
Of course now I have to find where i can send it.. while i dig out my old coffee maker. Maybe Mr Coffee wasn't so bad after all (LOL) Thanks Joe!
very sad about the Keurig though, it has such promise.
Have to go back to the standard way of coffee making.

by: Anonymous

i have the platuim keurig and love it! After 14months it stopped working and they sent me a new one. The problem I had was it would not despence coffee. I tried descaling it - still didn`t work. Then it overheated, spitting VERY hot water all over the place and melting the water tank. Not very happy about this. But Keurig does stand behind there product as you can see if you have read any of several post made

Keurig Pump not Working
by: Rob

My wife and I have three various Keurig models. We never returnd them when having problems. The only significant issue we have had over the last few years is when the brew isn't complete. This can be attributed to to the pump cavitating and not necessarily clogged nozzles, sticky valves, etc. My fix for this condition works every time. Fill the reservoir at least half full.

B60 Prime problem
by: Spanky

We've had a Keurig B60 for a few months. About 3 weeks ago we started getting the constant "Prime" indication on the screen. I found if I unplugged the unit it would actually prime after plugging in. It would work for one or two cups before the same problem would occur again. I called Keurig yesturday and went through their troubleshooting procedure while on the phone. The unit had the same problem. They are sending me a new one.
I noticed last evening at WalMart the new untis now come with a water filter in the water reservoir. I do love the coffee and tea and hope they can resolve the problem before they go under and leave us stuck with boxes of K-Cups.

Bad Smell and Taste; etc.
by: Mr. Fed-Up

We purchased a B60 for Christmas and it worked great, right up until the time the dreaded "PRIME" light came on. Followed recommended procedures and got one or two cups before the light came on again. Called customer service and they shipped a new machine. Now we have a bad taste/smell problem. Tried recommended procedures, still nothing. Called Keurig again; sending another machine, but i have my doubts this will be any better. What annoys me is Keurig HAS to know about these problems, but never admit to any of them on the phone or their website. We like the coffee and convenience, but are getting FED-UP!

KEEPS SHUTING OFF
by: Ralph D'ANTONIO

I have a B60.

Simply, when I can keep the unit on long enough, it will brew me a cold cup of coffee.
It all started by constantly going to the reset mode. We had enter the time & date everytime we wanted a cup.

Tired of all that we had to do just to get a cup of coffee. We decided to stop using it. Will still have 2 cases of coffee & tea that we'll never use.

I'm very disapointed.

Good and Bad
by: Charlie

My friends have had their Keurig for a while and when I tried the coffee I was very impressed. They surprised me when they arrived for Thanksgiving dinner with a Keurig for my own. Needless to say I was delighted. Everything was fine until just after Christmas when I noticed it was taking a while for the Ready To Brew to come on and the light to blink. I make the large cup in the morning. I've had no half cup syndrome, no backflow to the tank problem, no descaling problem, just great coffee every morning till now. It appears there is something going on with the electronics that isn't right. Every day it takes longer and longer to indicate Ready To Brew. Today it got up to 40 minutes. I set it to turn on earlier and earlier but 40 minutes is just unacceptable and I'm concerned that the unit is defective and I'm afraid it may actually be overheating internally. My friends paid green cash money for the unit and of course they didn't give me the receipt when they presented it to me. I took it back to Kohl's and they scanned it and said it wasn't one of their units, my friends insist it was purchased at Kohl's and they were excited that it also came with the large selection of K-Cups. A woman from the appliance department said they did sell them, but only as a promotional item last Fall, but, none the less, they wouldn't exchange it. So much for Kohl's, I cancelled my account with them and will be contacting Keurig directly regarding the issue. Sorry everyone is having issue, but mine worked great except that it took forever to be ready to brew. I have used only filtered water and was drinking way more coffee than before I received the unit, but it's in the box in the garage will it will sit until Keurig decides what they are going to do about it. In the meantime I'm not suggesting to anyone, anymore to purchase their product. Thanks for everyone taking the time to post their comments and Happy New Year to all!

I have a b60 special edition model that went belly up after just over a year..No lights, no noise,no warranty.. I called Keurig to see if there was a known problem or fix and they opted to replace the entire unit free without me even having to ask..The product didn't last as long as I would have hoped for the price but at least they are good about the replacement and hopefully will get the bugs ironed out because it does make a great cup of coffee

4 days great then trouble
by: Mike W.

I got his as a gift Xmas 2011 (model B79). Monday thru Thursday worked great then as of Friday morning it only brews 4 oz at 7.25 oz setting. All other settings are about the same, brewing between 4-5 oz. Tried all the troubleshooting to no avail.
I never did want one of these anyway since I saw it as a high tech Chinese-made gizmo and I had been using a French press as well as my trusty Krupps 4-cup coffeemaker.
My only regret is I bought a $13 dollar box of coffee K-cups that I thought I'd be using up. I was skeptical (hated it) when I got it but I thought it would last at least a year...not just 4 days. To me its not worth the trouble to try to return it after reading the other letters here.

Less than full cup from Keurig
by: blanham

Our Keurig was making 3/4 cup of coffie and forcing the remaining water back into the reservoir. The maker was less than six months old and we have used only distilled water. I put the nozzle of my air compressor into the plastic reservoir over-flow spout and injected air. Water spewed from the needle and water intake port. The "fix" worked. I just made two cups of coffie with no problem and no back flow into the water reservoir. I suspect that this problem is caused by a valve that sticks or a collasped line that allows the water to escape back into the water reservoir.

b60 Prime problems
by: D

1st B60 starting flashing "prime" 2 weeks after purchasing. Called the company, they walked me thru the steps...problem continued. They offered to replace free of charge as long as I sent them the K-cup holder. I refused. I just don't have time to stand in line at the post office, etc. Plus for the price I paid for plastic....they should stand behind their product & replace a defective product. Well they agreed to send me a new one anyway.

2 weeks of use and the new one is doing the same thing. Again, they offer to send another. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I am now waiting for someone from their corporate office to call me. I want a full refund for the cofeemaker AND the box of 80 K-cups I just ordered....or I want an upgrade. Seems the B60 is defective.

If I don't get satisfaction I plan to go to the Better Business Bureau ... I suggest everyone who gets no satisfaction to do the same.

Keurig is making a inferior product and over charging the consumers.

I'm thinking about trying a French Press to make may coffee.

Short Cup Solution
by: Anonymous

I had the same problem with the short cups, There is a filter in the top of the maker between the heated tank and the spout, When this gets clogged water reroutes back into the reservoir. To clean the filter first remove the handle ( 2 screws on each side) and then remove 2 screws under the lid on either side of the needle. you will see the filter inline right on top. Slide the hose clips back and remove the filter. You can soak it in vinegar or just rinse it good and exercise the filter valve to make sure it moves, try blowing through it. After I cleaned it the machine worked fine.

I would think the majority who complain about Keurig's products are not out to scam the company. I'm sure that they have better things to do with their time than try to get a free coffee maker.

I, for one, have had my Keurig replaced 3 times in less than 1 year. I would much rather have a coffee maker that works than get a new replacement every time I call them. Troubleshooting has been worthless. Though I appreciate that Keurig is willing to send a new replacement, that is the least they should do. I also am tired of having to mail back the K-cup holder every time. I have better things to do with my time than spend gas and time at the post office sending this stupid part back.

I have a Mr. Coffee machine that I have had for 10+ years and it's still going strong, I go back to it every time my Keurig quits working.

Most of us Keurig customers just want a decent-lasting Keurig and not looking for a free handout.

Try calling the company they will troubleshoot with you and often will replace the brewer even if its out of warranty. The company knows there are ongoing problems and some of them are the people that try to scam them out of replacements they are not entitled to. That doesnt even include the ones gotten fraudulantly through ebay and amazon with stolen credit cards. If you bought something at costco its their problem not Keurigs who knows what happened after they aquired it take it back to where you bought it. What about all the phoney free coffee coupons that people are so quick to use. All this trying to get more than you are entitled to is what makes and keeps costs up. If your brewer is less than a year old it can be replaced. If its 3-5 you have gotten your money's worth move on nothing lasts forever. How many of you complainers replace your cell phone or computer every year or two?Oh and if you actually flush them out with vinegar like your supposed to they actually work better gives better tasting coffee and last longer. For those of you that dont you probably lie to your hygenist about flossing too.

Dead B60 piece of Junk
by: Dean

I have had this B60 for two years and it up and dies. These units are not worth the money Kuerig charges for them. They are cheaply made in China with substandard engineering.

Save your money and use a FGrench press if you want single serving. It tastes better too.

Will not buy a Kuerig again

Response to Disappointed
by: MinaC

Like "Disappointed" I have also found that if you lift the water tank slightly and re-seat it, it will eliminate getting the dreaded "prime" message after brewing a cup of coffee. I haven't tried refilling every time I brew a cup but will see if that works also.

I decided that I am writing a letter to Keurig's corporate offices and advise them that they need to be working on a solution to the problems with the B60 and B70; otherwise, they are going to end up with a bunch of irate ex-customers. Though it helps that Keurig will readily replace the coffee maker, I think most of us consumers would much rather they come up with a solution to this problem. I, for one, am tired of requesting a replacement and then have to send back the Kcup holder to prove that my request is bonafide and not made up. I have better things to do in my busy life and it's getting to be a pain in the rear.

Pump problem
by: Dissappointed

I reported earlier that I was about ready to exchange my Keurig Signature Brewer if I a have 1 more problem. So far, I've been able to make it work with some watchfulness.

First, I try to keep it full and make sure that it's taking in water before and after I brew a cup. If I see that no water is being drawn in from the outer tank, I turn it off immediately before the dreaded prime light can get activated. I believe that this somehow prevents something bad happening to the pump and causing the prime warning.

Then I take out the water tank, top it off with water if it needs it, place the cap on, and snap it all back in place at once. If it doesn't need water, just take out the tank, and then snap it back in and turn it back on.

This has worked so far, but you really can't leave it alone when you hear it pumping. If you let it run and no water is pumping, I think it just messes up the machine more. I hope this helps.

What a Piece of Junk
by: Anonymous

The darn thing just stopped working. No lights, no nothing. Outlet works fine. Just dead. B60 model. Junk. Never in my life have I seen or heard of a coffee maker giving out after 10 months of use. I had a Mr. Coffee that I probably bought 25 years ago for $20 last until I threw it away after receiving the Keurig B60 as a Christmas present.

B 70 problem
by: Anonymous

Got our B 70 on August 28th 2011. Loved the machine. Some friends in Oregon had one and we thought it was nice. On October 10th with only two of us using it, it started to give us trouble. The prime light comes on and nothing works. Went on line and tried all there fixes, which only seem to work for a day or two tops. On October 20th went back to costco to return it only to be told we don't take these machines back anymore. Send it to the manufactor only. Well blew a cork and low and behold Costco gave us our money back. We got a new B 70 that day. Will let you know about the machine in a week or two. Love the coffee this machine makes.

2nd Brewer Replacement - Getting old!!
by: Mina C

This is the 2nd brewer that we are having replaced under warranty in less than 1 year. Both have the same issues: you get one cup of coffee then "prime" comes on. We unplug the brewer and turn it back on, then it goes through the warming up process and is ready for another cup. I contacted Keurig (again) and they walked me through the process of emptying the water reservoir, shaking it vigourously, then placing back on brewer and filling it back up with water. Then they asked that I brew 3 cups of plain water in a sequence. Needless to say, there was no way this could be done without unplugging and replugging the brewer. They asked if I could see any residue in the water. I said no. After all of this, they advised they would send a new brewer.

I asked if this was a continuing issues with this specific model as it seems there are a lot of complaints on the Internet regarding this same issue. They said each model has different issues but they really don't get that many complaints (don't know if I believe this). I told them that, though I do appreciate them sending a new brewer, I am getting tired of sending the Kcup holder back each time. It's costing me time and money.

I agree with most everyone that Keurig needs to either figure out what the problem is and fix it or give customers their money back. We all have enough on our plates each day without having to make time to call Keurig each time, go through some ridiculous process of troubleshooting, get told we'll be getting a new brewer and then having to package and mail the Kcup holder back from the current brewer. It's a pain in the behind!!!

Defective pumps/primer problem
by: Disappointed

I recently bought a Keurig Signature Brewer from Sam's club. About 2 weeks later I was forced to return it because of constant "primer" problems.

Just before we had the primer problem, we ordered our buy 2 get 2 free boxes of 24 K-Cups from Keurig as registered owners. So from that point, I guess you could say we were kind of stuck with at least 96 K-cups of coffee, but no brewer. However, Sam's club has a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so we got a replacement unit.

The replacement unit worked great and we again enjoyed about 2 weeks worth of coffee. I thought, this second unit works great, maybe the first unit I bought was lemon.

However, I'm sorry to say that it is starting all over again, just like clockwork. You will hear the unit working, but for some reason the pump wont take water into the inner tank when you are trying to brew a cup, and the primer light goes on. Then you have to go through this ritual of shutting off and unplugging the unit, dumping the water, re-seating the tank, and hoping that it will work after all the trouble. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm about one bad problem away from going back for another replacement. I'm not sure that will work either.

I've thought about what Keurig could do with future models. Maybe they could add a manual primer button such as what you might see on some lawnmowers to help start them. Maybe they should insulate the inner tank which is hot from the outer tank which is plastic and can melt. Maybe there is some kind of flaw in the electronics, I don't know. These coffee makers aren't cheap, they should last.

To end, I hope that this may somehow help others, and that some Keurig representative out there is listening. It should be a joy to drink a cup of coffee, not a job.

Bad Taste
by: Sue E

I see someone else has a problem with a bad taste. We got a replacement for our B70 because it just stopped working, but the replacement had a plastic/chemical/glue smell that affected the taste and smell of the coffee. I ran a lot of water through it & tried vinegar, too, but it didn't help the taste. We received a replacement for that one, too, but we're having the same bad taste/smell problem.

Expensive Piece of Junk
by: Karen

Bought my first B60 in April 2011 and am currently waiting to receive my third one from Kuerig because of the same recurring issues - prime light comes on after every cup brewed - brews only a half cup or less every time. Very noisy - gurgles like it's about to explode or take off. Kuerig needs to either 1) fix the issue and not just keep sending another replacement that doesn't work; or 2) recall the units and reimburse people for the cost and inconvenience they have caused. If they are not going to produce a quality product, then they need to step up and do the right thing!

Explosive Keurig
by: Anonymous

My second Keurig just died. I got one for Christmas in 2010. The first one exploded spitting coffee all over the kitchen- then got hot- I mean red hot. They finally sent a replacement after going through all of the troubleshooting over the phone. The new one just exploded coffee grounds everywhere and started smoking. I didn't see fire but red hot coils and smoke.

I have to say I had my Bunn for 13 years and it was still working. I liked the idea of a fresh cup every time. Well that isn't going to work out for me.

KEURIG PRIME PROBLEMS
by: Anonymous

this is the fifth keurig coffie maker I returned to Keurig. I must say they have sent a replacement each time since it was under the warentee. The problem is each one they have sent had the same problem . The prime light comes on and either you have to reset the water holder or it does not work a all. They do not address the problem. If there is a factory problem with these coffie makers they should recall them and and return your money. They are a nice machine if they would work right Keurig should address this problem with the prime.

I could make a commercial!
by: Anonymous

I couldn't possibly read the multitude of comments listed here. After 20, I had enough. I also have my issues with this coffee maker. I called in once, but then I resolved the problem on my own and it stopped blinking. Now I'm back to where I was, with the refilling, wiping under reservoir, banging, slapping, shaking, when all I wanted was a fast cup of coffee in the morning! If I don't fix it this time, I'm calling and I hope they don't send me a commentor's rehabed.

More than enough issues.....
by: So. Florida Coffee Drinker

So we are on our fourth brewer in less than two years. The first three had descaling issues that nothing could resolve. Keurig must know this is a problem because they keep sending new replacements at no charge. Well the fourth has worked about 3 months and now the it will not prime itself. I have to take the cannister off, press the little plunger on the bottem, then reset it. I'm calling today and asking for my $160.00 dollars back. I'm sure they'll say no but enough is enough.

Forgot to add, that after the vinegar fix, I now get a full cup.. and the temperature is hotter too. All in all.. back to almost new. Just have to remember to descale more frequently.

working again.. yeh!!
by: Anonymous

Hi after trying to brew my fix for the morning, my machine decided to shut down and nothing was happening. Turned the power on half a dozen times, and still nothing :( Oh dear.. where is that wretched kettle deleted from my kitchen benchtop a little over a year ago??? And wouldnt you know it, the warranty is finished in April.
So, I have read the comments below, and figured my machine was heading for higher places.
Then I read the keurig site and decided to give the machine the old white vinegar descale just for safe measure.. didnt really want to discard something that still looks great, and walla!! It worked.
I cleaned the tip of the needle in the brewing area with vinegar and toothbrush. Put a needle into the opening and moved around a little.
Then poured two cups of vinegar into the machine. Let it sit for 10mins or so.. and tried the whole power on and brew routine.. YEH!! No new coffee maker for me today.. worth a try before you buy. :)

Not worth time or $$$
by: Linda

Total agreement with comments. Loved it for the 6 months it worked. Got it for Christmas, and by July it died. There is NO water coming out at all. I only used filtered water in it, and descaled it. Turned it upside down hit the bottom, still doesn't work. When you add the cost of machine, cost of K cups and amount of time before you have to replace...guess it may be cheaper to just go thru Starbucks in morning.

by: gary swansonAnonymous

That's right. I read on another site of all the problems people were having with thier Keurig. Turns out, it was the same problem we were having. Half cups, machine turning off, etc etc. So many people wrote in comments and said to take the resevoir off, turn it over at the sink and spank the bottom of the machine several times. I did, and it works like new. I was going to throw it away, instead we went to Costco and bought a box of cups today.(a lot cheaper there than anywhere).

I have as of this moment finally given up and thrown my Keurig B70 unit in the trash. Started off last year with leaks and failure to brew. Latest problem is I can't life the handle to insert a pod. Enough is enough! I put this unit where junk belongs: in the trash. I'm just sorry I paid good money for crap...

4 or more is too many
by: Anonymous

I purchased a large coffee maker last year. It worked well for about 4 months then just shut off and quit working. I exchanged it for one of the same. It quit after 3 months. Next time I purchased a small single cup and so far no problems after 3 months. The next problem was another large one we had purchased for our 2nd home. It quit after 2 months. I exchanged it for the Mr coffee//Keurig single cup. That was 2 months ago and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I followed all directions for de-scaling and so forth on all the makers and still nothing.
In total we went through 4 or more and have decided I will not purchase any more if or when the last 2 decides to stop working

never a full cup
by: Anonymous

I had recieved one of the B60 three size cup machine as a christmas present loved it;...for the first couple of months, it brewed a the third cup size full, the second cup size full and the first size cup full. Today the second and the third cup brews as supposed too, but the third cup the biggest doesn't. I tried cleaning as directed by the manufactor and that didnt seem to work. Now what i do for the most ounces (third cup size) is I push the second cup button first then when that is done I push the first cup button which now gives me the BIG fullest cup of coffe that I am looking for. Why should one have to do soooo many steps in brewing a cup of coffee. Maybe one of us who have bought these machines needs to get a job at Kuerig as a PR person to let them know that they are overcharging for this product that is not 100% reliable. It would be great to know what there financials are and how much money they are loosing......

First Return
by: Anonymous

Hi All,

I just went through the hassle of dealing with customer service. They have sent me a new machine but what a hassle to go through! Im particularly annoyed that they know about the pump issues (admitted to my by the customer service rep) but they still made me go through all of the hassle.

They need to know some basic trouble shooting! Cause and effect!!! If you arn't darn well drawing water from the external reservoir how are you going to measure the amount of water pumped into the cup!

THe shipping for returning the K-Cup holder with insurance and tracking was enough where I could have bought another cheep "mr Coffee" type.

I am soooo ticked off at keurig!! They know they have an issue and keep selling junk!.

Iv bought this machine a bit out of my class, financially speaking. I suppose to most people a couple of hundred bucks doesn't mean much. For me it does. So Im particularly ticked off at Keurigs attitude. To me a $200 coffee machine darn well batter perform like a $200 machine! It doesn't!!!

I wish I had never heard of these crooks!

Just have to agree with all the other complaints, short cups, back flowing into water tank and just not working at all. Customer service just keeps sending a new maker, but I would rather just have one that worked properly. I guess every 6 months I'll have to call customer service and have them send a new one. Wish they would just fix their problems and manufacture a product equal to the advertising they do.

internal cavity filled with water
by: mbmork

I'm on my 2nd machine in 15 months. The first one just stopped brewing when the pump died. This second one, a B-70 Platinum, spit and dribbled water all over when I used the refillable K-cup. I was able to fix that problem on my own, but not very impressed that I had to correct a flaw on a new machine. Now, after four months, I can't get a cup of coffee because the water is filling up the inside of the coffee maker. It's heavy and sloshing around in there and I have no way of getting the water back out. I'm back to using my french press.

About to call this afternoon telling them my third macine has broken. Press the button to brew - nothing. Love the coffee but the machine sucks. First one lasted 6 months, second one 5 months and the third 5 months. Same thing went wrong with all three. Customer service is great. They send me new machine every time. Do not know how they stay in business. For God Sakes man fix the problem.

what worked
by: Anonymous

I was having the short cup syndrome. found a YouTube video that suggested cleaning the small impeller (looks like a circle with an X across it) that is below the water tank. He used a water pick to clean it, I just used a tooth brush and water. It fixed the problem immediately. I cleaned the spike that punctures the K cup and did the vinegar descaling as well, but cleaning that impeller was the key. Good luck!

I am now going on my 3rd Keurig. I will say one thing, their customer service is more than willing to replace their defective coffee makers....HOWEVER....this is again, my 3rd machine!!! They work fine for several months, then out of the blue they totally screw up! Why doesn't Keurig FIX what is obviously a mechanical shortcoming; go back to the drawing board, or whatever it takes in order to make these right? I love the concept of Keurig. Just wish I could get a coffee maker that also loves making a good cup of coffee on a CONSISTANT basis! GEEZ!!!

Smoking machine!
by: Anonymous

Tonight I had my Keurig plugged in, ready to brew, heard a "click", then started smelling electrical smoke in kitchen. I didn't have anything else plugged in, and a remodel 3 yrs. ago, I have all updated wiring. After I unplugged the machine, which is now turned off, the smell dissapated. When I plugged it back in, it came back. I still heats and runs, but something definately is burning inside. I had a neighbor come over to help troubleshoot with me and this appears to be the problem. I have it in the garage now and will be calling keurig!

Problems with Keurig
by: NJ Java Jinx

We bought our first Keurig for Christmas 2010. It just stopped functioning after 5 Months. On May 14, 2011 I trashed it, took a loss since it was beyond the 90 warrantee from the store where I bought it, and I purchased the Platinum model ($179). This model lasted 1 week and died. It just stopped functioning. I couldn't believe it and thought maybe I just got a defective machine, so on May 21, 2011 I returned it to Bed, Bath and Beyond and received a new Platinum model in an even exchange. This last model lasted 2 1/2 weeks and died. Again, it just stopped functioning. I just returned it and purchased a Cuisinart. I am done. I hope the Cuisinart lasts. I still have a boatload of K cups. What a huge dissappointment.

Priming Problem
by: Anonymous

I've had my Keurig B70 for 1 month. Worked find for 20 days and then I'd make a cup of coffee and the Prime light would come on. I'd take the water take out and replace it once or twice (as per their directions) and then I could brew another cup. This kept going on for every other cup of brew. I finally took it back to Costco and they replaced it with no questions. Brew my first cup and it worked just fine. I agree their is a problem with the machine. I"ll just keep taking it back until Keurig addresses their problem.

We have had our B60 about 11 months. We have gone through short cup syndrome. This morning I turned the "thing" on and it kept shuting off without warming the water. 3 Models - all quit!
by: Anonymous

- mt Brother-in-law and I bought our 1st one @ CostCo 2 yrs ago. (Special Edition) His died in 4-6 wks. Mine went about 8mo. then the tank started to leak. I returned it and they had a special on Platinum Edit. so I went for that. After 5mo. the water pump went haywire - "small cup syndrome". I returned it to CostCo for full refund; went to a home convenience store where we purchased our 3rd... the Personal Brewer Mini-Plus. Now it's croaked - making a terrible buzzing sound and NO brewed coffee coming through nozzle. I give up - I didn't sign up to learn to be the "Maytag Repair Man when I went with this technology and tossed my old Mr. Coffee!!

Repair Keurig personal cup leak
by: Wally

The only problem i have had thus far is with the re-usable cup leaking while water was going through it. I called Keurig and they said to pull the round rubber gasket on the upper needle down a touch to make a better seal. I tried this but it soon went back to leaking again. I sent an e-mail to them and never got a reply.I decided to try adding adding a rubber gasket (thinner than the one on the machine) above the existing one and this worked just fine. You can take your griginal gasket to a plumbing supply for comparison and choose one a bit thinner and it will correct this problem. I trus this will help someone.

Water filling the main body of the brewer
by: Anonymous

I think have a different kind of problem than most of those described previously.

I got what appears to be by now the famous "short cup" of coffee. I tried a couple of runs, then just water, same thing each time.

So I pick up the machine without the water tank and whoa, is this thing heavy.

I shake the machine and can hear water sloshing around the inside of the main body.

So instead of water refilling the reservoir, its somehow filling up the main body of the machine, with no sign of it ever leaking out. I tried to remove the bottom plate but all you get to is the electronics, with the water still securely encased inside the machine.

Anyone else ever have this problem? It appears to be fatal to me, but would appreciate anybody who's tried to recover from this.

It looks like another brand is in order.

Green Mountain Wake Up!
by: Anonymous

Don't know why the string stopped last month. I'll just add my two cents. I am on my third brewer. This one, a B69, has just stopped working properly after 9 months. The first two lasted 13 months each. This is my third purchase and I'm livid. Each machine was well taken care of and descaled per instructions. The coffee is great, but the machines have an obvious problem in either their mechanics or circuit boards. They go out of cycle and can't be fixed. Have to find a reliable brewer. This drives me nuts!

Well, I will add this problem to the rest.
by: Anonymous

The other day my B77 was working fine and not even a short cup in sight. I went to plug it in it start up then work dispense a cup of coffee it did even do that. Find my book went through all of the troubleshooting step and including descaling. Now The water goes through the resevor nozzle (the upper one)and/or brews a half of cup and/or doesnt want to work..(Oh and sometimes it run through both nuzzles) $167.00 for this machince....it was nice to have but I am going to think twice about getting another one.

I bought 2 more for presents I hope they don't have any problems. 03/07/2011 Bill

Solution!
by: David

I am on my 5th or 6th Keurig. Here's what I do...I just return it every 6-10 months to Bed, Bath & Beyond. I get a new one each time...no questions asked. Eventually, Keurig has to fix their shortcomings!!!

Frustrated
by: Percolator

Purchased four Keurig machines for Christmas gifts and two have already failed. One didn't work when we first plugged it in. All the lights flashed but it wouldn't do anything else. We spent a considerable amount of time with customer service jumping through "try this hoops" before they agreed to replace. The other was fine until today when it wouldn't fill the cup but would only flow back into the reservoir. Tried everything to resolve with no success. I went to the web for assistance and found all these complaints! The product is apparently over rated and has major defect issues. I wonder if the quality would have been better if it hadn't been made in China! If you own GMC stock I'd be selling fast!

B60 Problems and fixes
by: Anonymous

My B60 has the same issues as most others. I find that if the pump is running fast after brewing a cup I lift the tank and drop it back into place. This seems to stop the cavitation and it will pump water into the heater tank. The flow back problem has now occurred where 1/2 the water is routed into the overflow back into the tank instead of being used to brew the coffee. If you see it happening a open handed slap on top will free up the sensor and the machine will make the coffee. I have cleaned the machine thoroughly and descaled it with a gallon of white vinegar but it did nothing to stop these two problems. Teay are definately mechanical problems. Cleaning won't fix a defect! I don't like having to mess around with "fixes" on the machine but I can at least get a cup of coffee out of it. When I find out they have truly fixed the problem I will buy a replacement machine.

Keurig B60
by: judbut

I purchased this B60 Jan 3rd, 2011 and have had problems with it not refilling itself from the reserve tank. I too, went through the specialist who walked me through their check list. I have only used distilled water but they put me through the vinigar rinse. It got better for a couple of weeks then started doing the same thing and shutting itself down. Now, I am waiting for a new one and am sending the K cup back to them. I sure hope they have repaired the problem but after reading your remarks it's not to hopeful

Better than most
by: billdon

Bought my B70 at Kohls, one year and one week ago. Loved the coffee, ease of operation and minimal clean up despite occassional less than full cups. Noticed a month or so ago water was returning to the resevoir but that went away. Never de-scaled, used paper clips or performed any sort of maintenance. This morning it refused to turn on no matter what outlet I tried so I called customer service. They asked a few questions then said they would send me a replacement if I return the little brewer basket. Cut the top off one of the Kenyan cups and poured it into my single cup french press. Hope the replacement arrives quickly and hope it lasts at least a year.

In response to your comment: Feb 14, 2011 (Shocked) by Anonymous:

Apparently some of you including Keurig may believe that the vast majority of our comments are just made up or that we are all ignorant as to how to use, clean, or troubleshoot our Brewer problems. If you had truly read and interpret what was written, you would have noticed that most of us have done everything that the Manufacturer of the B60 and B70 Brewers have recommended and that includes using Filtered water as well as using the optional filter that is available. I can not speak for or against the Cuisinart Brewers and have not done a review on them, but I can say that I am about to receive my second replacement Brewer from Keurig and it will be a B76 model replacing the last 2 B70 Models. reply e-mail: gldamron@aol.com

I'm shocked to hear about all of these problems, everyone I know with these machines has no problems. I have a Cuisinart unit that works flawlessly. I can't help but wonder if some of the issues people are having are due to water issues, distilled water might be a good idea?

Nothing But Problems
by: Betsy

Time to call again. I'm about ready to throw the thing out the window. I must say customer service isn't very helpful at all. They act like it's a surprise everytime they hear a complaint. It does make great tasting coffee, but it leaks, half-fills, cuts off within 45 seconds of brewing. It drips, it says it's out of water when it isn't. Hopefully, for everyone out there considering purchasing one of these high priced brewers will not get the B60 or B70.

Keurig B70 Coffee Brewer Problems
by: George Damron

This Comment is a follow-up from Feb. 11 2011. I woke up this morning again with the frustration of trying to brew a cup of coffee with my Keurig B70 Coffee Brewer. I ran the paper clip through all 3 ports on the dispensing nozzle with no luck. Finally I had to unplug the Brewer and waited a minute or two and after several attempts of raising and closing the lid, I was able to get about a half cup of coffee dispensed. Angrily, but with patience, I contacted Keurig again and of course they tried to put me thru the same troubleshooting procedures and I politely said: enough is enough, I should not have to endure this frustration every time I want to brew a cup of coffee and I want to talk to one of your Engineers and they told me to call back next week mon-thru-fri, but in the mean time they agreed to send me another B70 Brewer. This will be the 3rd. one. I thanked them and asked them, how many are they prepared to send me, before they really try to find out and admitt to their problems. I feel certain that the only way they will issue a recall and finally fix the problems is to receive a class action law suit or so heavy pressure from Consumer Affairs, rest assured, I won't give up until they come clean. I suggested they try reading the numerous negative comments on the web site. e-mail reply: :gldamron @ aol.com(Please dont leave email ids intact anywhere on the internet, you will get spammed otherwise...whoever wants to reply this email id remove the spaces between the id and then send the mail)

Platinum B70 Keurig Coffee Brewer
by: George Damron

After reading all the comments here, I think it's fair to say that Keurig Coffee Brewers have some serious issues. My first B70 purchased at Kohls started short filling at about 10 months. I kept up, the recommended cleaning/descaling recommended by Keurig every 2 mos. with White Distilled Vinegar and I always used Filtered water. Eventually after about 14 months, it would not brew a cup of coffee at all. I called Keurig and they agreed to send me another B70 even though mine was out of warranty. Well guess what, they sent me a new one back in July of 2010 and I started having very similar problems with the new one about 2 months ago. Sometimes it will shut off all by itself and sometimes I have to unplug it and try several times to brew a cup of coffee. I called them today and they tried putting me through all their little troubleshooting procedures that most often doesn't solve the problem. I will be calling them back every day until they provide me with a Brewer that actually works. I know that there is a problem with the the orifice of the pump and the dispensing nozzle, you know the one that gets plugged up and they tell you to use a paper clip to unplug it. I recommend anyone having trouble with their brewers to Keep calling Keurig until they admitt that they have some design issues with their Brewers, or if all else fails, buy a Tassimo, you won't have to clean or unplug the nozzle every time You brew a cup of coffee. I had the short cup problem right from the start. DiD the paper clip and canned air thing for a quick fix but always came back. Now it just shuts down . It will turn back on in a few minutes but the sucker is just lazy. Im done with this company. I look around and cant belive the amount of people having the same problem and more people are getting stuck spending tons of $ on this company.

Just Stopped Working
by: Anonymous

We have had our Keurig B70 for 10 months. Last Sunday morning, my husband and I each made a perfect cup of coffee. Two hours later, we found the machine dark with no display. We tried different plugs, turning on and off and it is just DEAD!

Mulitple problems, attempting remedies....
by: scott in nc

my first and only Keurig has lasted about 2 yrs with no problems. Now, water is returning to the reservoir; only 4 ounces of coffee is made regardless of which of the three sizes I choose; and it is erratically shutting down on its own. I've read the posts here. I've used the paper clip, I've 'banged' the right side to dislodge a possible stuck sensor, I'm going to now use the vinegar cleaning. Stay tuned, I'll post results later today in the event these options will help others.

Leaking Water
by: Anonymous

My Keurig is just over 3 months old and has also started leaking water everywhere! I will attempt to return it to the place of purchase this week, but until then the only solution is to leave the reservoir off of the base.

Leaking when using K-Cup

I gave my son a Keurig for Christmas when he tried to use the K-Cup it just spills water out all around the top . Very disappointed. Is there anything to do to fix this?

Tried the combo approach to fixing this @%!@# thing
by: Anonymous

We only had our $139 contraption for one month when it decided to only brew half cups (lucky us). After reading multiple suggestions, we tried them all and finally.....after cursing at it, slapping it, turning it upside down and shaking it, AND cleaning the rubber washer with vinegar and hot water.......THERE IS A KEURIG god!!!!!!! It was a very invigorating experience!!!!!

Water going back into reservoir
by: Kevin

Our unit has had this issue for quite some time now, of putting water back into the reservoir and not making a complete cup.
Our solution is simple, just WHACK IT a few times on the right side. It is a STUCK FLOAT inside the heating section and the back fill is to keep it from overflowing inside your machine. Never thought about taking it back since we got it for FREE but Keurig definitely needs to look into these issues!

clog!!
by: Anonymous

The only problem my coffee maker had was a clog in the initial piercing unit. All the instructions were focusing on the exit needle, I don't know if they were referring to the exit needle being "exiting the machine" but I took it as the needle in the k-cup holder. I tried clearing that but didn't work then I pulled up the handle and took my little paper clip and stuck it in there to see if the clog was there. I tried it out and... it worked. I don't like to toss things out until I know for absolute sure that it is kaputt. In this case, fortunately, it worked!

Keurig B70
by: Anonymous

I have loved my coffee maker since day one: Then the problem started. It would not take the water into the resevoir. I called Keurig, I called small appliance repair shops. nothing. then i read one of the comments here on this site. I called Bed Bath and Beyond, and sure enough, they exchanged my coffee maker no questions ask. I am so excited. I will tell all my friends to buy everything possible from Bed Bath and Beyond. They are great.

Frustrated !!!!
by: John NJ.

My first B60 lasted 4 years with careful maintenance just stopped brewing. I have since returned 2 more B60's in 3 months. both machines occasionally would brew half cup. Water would pour half in the cup and half back into the side reserve. I love the coffee so i'm looking into the Cuinsinart Brand, because i have read just as many complaints with the B70. Nobody can accuse me of not trying to stay loyal. Time to move on.

Broken part
by: B. Curran

For some reason the small plastic part that fits under the cup holder has broken into pieces over time. This causes the stream of coffee to shoot out in an erratic stream. I don't know where to get a replacement, as I bought my Keurig several years ago and don't have any of the paperwork.

Return it
by: Anonymous

I bought a Keurig B60 yesterday at a local "As Is" store for only $27. I got it home and it had the dreaded NOT READY message on the display. I tried everything I saw posted about how to clear it to no avail. Today I finally called the nearest Bed Bath and Beyond store and told them the problem. When asked how long I had the machine I told them "not very long". I also told them I did not have a box or a receipt. Not once was I asked where I bought it or how much I paid for it. I was told to bring it in for an exchange. When I walked in the store I gave it to the gal at the Service Desk and she told me to go get another one off the shelf, which I did. From the time I entered the store until I left was about 7 minutes. I now have a brand new Keurig for the total cost of $27 (plus I got 12 free K Cups in the box). This new machine is under warranty for 1 year and is, at the moment, working great. It pays to make a phone call and just ASK.

by: Ed E. Munstor

If the issue is only when you put in a K-Cup then the most likely problem is a clogged lower needle. Try shoving a paper clip through it to see if it's got coffee grounds/debris in it.

My issue with the B70 is the pump issue. I've tried using compressed air to blow out the lines and vinegar treatment to no avail. I don't think it's still covered under warranty but I guess I'll give it a shot.

Won't Brew/Shuts Off
by: Council Bluffs, IA Coffee Lover

In some respect I must be luckier then those who have posted comments previously since my Keurig has lasted 18 months before problems started. My Keurig was a gift so I don't have a receipt for an exchange. It started to brew only half-cups and has now stopped brewing. If we take out the k-cup, water will come through. But, as soon as we put the it in, it won't brew. I really miss the conveniece of having a one-cup brewer because I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. For $149.00 these coffe makers should last longer than they are. I'm not sure if I would purchas a new one for that kind of money.

First Cup problem
by: Anonymous

We also have a problem with the first cup after the unit is turned on. This issue does not occur every time but often. So far, my solution is as follows: (1) have an extra coffee cup or container handy, (2) remove the K-Cup, (3) turn the power OFF then back ON, Press BREW again. ---- The coffee maker will despense right away but since BREW was pressed twice you will get 2 cups worth (hence having the 2nd cup handy). When this is complete, replace your K-Cup aligning the hole on the bottom of the K-Cup with the poker. The coffee maker works fine from this point forward. Clumsy but you don't have to wait for the coffee maker to sort things out on its own.

Last Chance
by: Dawn

We bought 2 B70 units for different homes. Both had the same problem of shutting off after the first cup was brewed. And one started having problems with not brewing a full cup. Neither unit had been used a full 6 months. Keurig was good about replacing each one. The second one they replaced I was asked me to send back the kcup holder from the problem unit. That got me thinking there must be others having the same problems. Visiting various web sites I found a lot of people are having all kinds of problems with all models. I love it when they work but if I start having problems with these next two, I will buy a different brand and will definitely do some research first.

I'm on number five
by: Darcy

I bought the special edition in November 2009. I had trouble within two months. Called the company and they sent me a new one. I continued to have problems and they sent me two more. In March (five months after original purchase) they upgraded me and this one was fine for 4 months and it is now having problems. It takes me 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee in the morning. I think Keurig needs to spend the money on improving their product instead of spending their money replacing coffee makers. I absolutely love my Keurig - when it works.

Have just returned my first special edition Kuerig to Costco for exchange, no questions asked. I loved the Kuerig since my first purchase last Sept 2009. Just had machine stop presurizing the cup, hence no coffee. Hope this second machine lasts longer than 9 mos.

Our coffeemaker is doing the same exact thing and this is our 2nd maker. We got it as a gift and we love it but it keeps giving us the same problem as yours was doing. It was purchased from Costco now we are going to call them, as the stores do not have them in stock anymore. Mmm, sounds a little fishy to me. But we will see...Thanks
